Gargoyle

Like a dust covered gargoyle
Like a soul carved in stone
I reside above the city lights
This tower is my throne
In a transcendental state
A cosmic journey of the mind
Before my eyes life and death unfolds
I see through endless time

I've been here since I don't know when
A whole lifetime spent...

Waiting faithfully. Now the mercury
Drops down below zero
Thunder in the distance
Cold wind and heavy snow
In the darkness. Like magma
An endless river of cars
Crawls by like a silent
Caravan of stars

The emission I inhale
It eats me away

A lifetime is just a second in infinity
Blink your eyes and you're gone
Time will go on. Eternally
But our time has come
